Owen apprenticed with sculptor Meyers Rohowsky and studied with painter Emily Hixon; see the code based object Plotkin created , EMILY<\/a>. Plotkin attended Hartford School of the Arts; a fine arts major he also studied contemporary music history at The Hartt School. He worked in cor-ten steel, mixed media, music concrete <\/a>and \u201cart rock.\u201d Owen Plotkin earned his MFA from NYU Grad Film and Television, studied coding at NYU Center for Advanced Technology in Multimedia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owen Plotkin Co-Founded film and video editing company \u2013 the now corporation<\/a> in NYC and served as chief officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plotkin\u2019s tv and radio commercial voiceover work led to his membership in SAG AFTRA, available for voiceover narration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a maker and video editor, a mixed media artist. Plotkin’s net art was featured in an exhibit at the New Museum in New York City<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A self taught guitarist, he writes songs, sings and writes poetry. He studies voice with composer and voice teacher\u00a0Marisa Michelson<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owen is a beginner piano student with touring singer\/songwriter Joanna Schubert. Her latest album here, aka Oropendola<\/a> <\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plotkin founded and curated The Electrical Retrospectacle 1998-2006: A series of experimental, underground, personal and poetic film screenings, projected in 16mm. Plotkin selected films from the extensive catalogues of the Museum of Modern Art Circulating Film and Video Library,the Film makers Cooperative NYC,Canyon Cinema, The Pacific Film Archive (now the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive Library), The Donnell Library Center at 53rd Street (sadly closed in 2008) and private collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plotkin collaborated on film\/art performances with Mary Jordan<\/a> and Tony Conrad<\/a> at Performa 1999 and Jordan’s Parthenogenesis at the Box and Canal Room<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He founded Hungrr<\/a>,LLC in 2005 to help raise awareness to the facts and issues surrounding hunger in the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
